Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

With our work at Camberley Group / Cam Lock complete, we thought we’d share how we implemented Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), in a little more detail. Business Case: Whilst we were preparing the client for a major customer Production Readiness Review, opportunities to improve their process for new product development were identified. Then, following successful completion of the review, our brief changed to helping the client structure, define and implement a business wide strategic plan. The business case for improvement of the NPD process became overwhelming, as it was key to more effectively converting increased sales opportunities into revenue. BizEx have been facilitating the development and deployment of a five year strategic plan that aims to deliver significant increases in sales and profitability. Here's what they said about us: "Starting from a very narrow base Rory greatly assisted in developing and implementing a ‘company-wide’ strategic vision. He aided in the changing of views and preconceptions of staff at many levels and was instrumental in obtaining participation and the subsequent buy-in from staff. Rory has the ability to listen and adapt techniques to meet the individual organisations requirements - ‘one shoe doesn’t fit all’.  He is conscientious and wants the company to perform and learn from its mistakes, meaning he is committed to delivering a working system not just an ideological one." Paul Foster, MD Camberley Group. Linked activities have included the following; Quality Vision and Objectives: We performed a very detailed QMS gap assessment, looking at ISO 9001 and AS 9100 requirements, Key Customer and Regulatory Requirements, Quality performance and staff competencies.

April – July 2013, Cam Lock / US Navy PRR and PCA

BizEx successfully prepared the client for a US Navy Production Readiness Review and Physical Configuration Audit. A gap assessment to the requirements was performed and detailed action plans were put in place to manage gap closure. Some hands on work was required to implement improved processes such as supplier evaluation and monitoring, and the client was provided with presentation material for the assessments. Here's what they said about us; "The company remit was a challenging one in respect of both subject matter and time frame.  Rory quickly and systematically assessed the areas that urgently required remedy, and put in place action plans to achieve the required result.  He monitored and progressed the plans throughout the life of the project. I found Rory to be both professional and personable at all times and would not hesitate in recommending his company and related services." Paul Foster, MD Cam Lock & Camberley Group.
